This episode takes you inside the very first laboratory tests by the POLIMI team on their newly assembled morphing trailing edge - a key enabler for future aircraft efficiency and adaptability.
What's in the spotlight?
- A quasi-static test at 70% of maximum deflection
- A preliminary low-frequency dynamic test at 1.5 Hz with limited deflection
These tests mark a major milestone in validating HERWINGT's innovative concepts and pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology.
With 23 enabling technologies under development, HERWINGT is driving progress from TRL3 to TRL4, following successful Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews in 2024.
The definition phase for technology demonstrators is nearly complete - and the future looks promising!
